Kevin is an established senior executive in both the Petroleum and Water industries. As an Executive at Email Electronics, he was responsible for the design, manufacturing and maintenance of petroleum delivery systems for all major oil companies throughout Australia.
In 1995, Kevin joined the water industry as a part of major reform of that sector. His initial role was General Manager at South East Water for maintenance and construction of network infrastructure and treatment plants. In 2005, he created Utility Services as an alliance with private industry to facilitate a rapid delivery model as a part of the Victorian drought response. Utility Services provided technologies and construction to all states in Australia. In 2007, he was appointed to deliver Maintenance to Metrowater, Auckland for 5 years. Kevin was appointed Managing Director of South East Water in 2011 with revenues of $1.1B. In 2017, he was appointed as a board Member to the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.
Experience and Achievements
✦ Developed (and coded) the first Australian water utility automation of service call despatch system with GPS real time tracking and in vehicle Geographical Information System. This enabled real time asset data and customer information being available to all parties.
✦ Created Australia’s first water industry “pure alliance” to deliver maintenance services to 740,000 connected properties achieving a 12% pa saving.
✦ Achieved lowest operating cost company in several benchmarking comparisons and was the most profitable water utility in Victoria.
✦ Delivered an annual capital program to the value of $350M.
✦ Created “iota”, a fully owned subsidiary for non-regulated business. A first for a Victorian owned water company.
✦ Consolidated 3 offices to a new $96M Head Office building in Frankston.
✦ Developed new technologies that allowed an accelerated backlog sewage capital program to 20,000 homes with significant savings.
✦ Initiated and co-developed an award-winning the “Aquarevo” housing estate of 450 family homes with innovations resulting in 70% consumption reduction.
